April Showers

So we've had a lot of rain this last week, which means the motivation to do...well anything, is at an all time low.  I did have one day of productivity tho, so I started cutting fabric for the large bed quilt I mentioned last post.  Here are a few pictures of the fabric we've picked.  These swatches are all French General.

In-between Easter and working on cutting this fabric, I pieced another top that will be for sale at CozyCrafts in good time.  It's a unisex baby quilt, with a mixed assortment of cotton, flannel, and eventually Minky fabrics.  As I was piecing the squares I found this lovely note from my Mother who saw the squares as I had them up on my display board.  Isn't she great?!

Finally, I bought this pattern from Loft Creations, who does a lovely blog on quilting, food stuffs, and her cute dog Abby.  I've got the fabric picked out and now just need the motivation to put it together!  It's planning to be a new gym bag--perhaps a new bag will spur more motivation to get there?  One can only hope, and if not, well I can always use another bag.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Now that March is almost I can start to get excited for Spring/Summer!  Warmer weather means time in the garden.  Planning, planting and pruning.  Excited yet?  I am.  Admittedly I haven't started to plan what I want to plant yet this year.  I'll probably have to revisit some pictures from last year to see what worked and what I'd like to avoid this year.  It HAS been a long Winter, so looking at pictures of a warmer time will be a real hardship. ; )

Crafting I'll certainly be busy.  I've got some bunny toile fabric that I made into a quilt for myself, that I've been taking my time quilting.  I've also started another version of a baby quilt I sold last August, so that's also in the works.  Finally, my large project for the Spring is a King size bed quilt for my parents. We picked out the pattern last Fall, and finally got most of the fabric ordered.  I'll be looking for someone to machine quilt this monster for me, since we're hoping for a very pretty, floral design.  More updates to come, probably as it get's nicer.  Good weather = more posts.

Let's Think Spring

I'm starting to get that Spring bug, not a cold/flu, but that desire to plan for Spring, and grow things, and have days filled with sunshine and light breezes.  These two quilts were created in the little down-time I've had this month.   This quilt was the first I made with my AccuQuilt fabric cutter.  It's for sale at my Etsy shop, CozyCrafts.  I also made a friendship braid quilt out of a jelly roll I picked up at Jo-Ann's.

Up next, some lovely Easter bunny fabric that was half off will make a nice bunny quilt for myself.  Paired with matching brown fabric and a soft cream backing that I used in the braid quilt will be very nice for Spring!  Who doesn't love bunnies?

Also couldn't help myself when I saw this little bundle at Jo-Ann's last week.  Like I said, think Spring!

More fabric I found, I know, not exactly Spring, but it just caught my eye.

New to this pile is the smaller, center print.  I've slowly collected the brown, green, and gold prints.  I think the center will pull the collection together nicely, and keep adding to it.  It'll make a nice fall quilt.
